In June of 1985 our family moved from Marion, North Carolina to Henderson. Little did we know that 19 years later we would still be serving the people of this region of the state and surrounding area. The church has gone through two major building projects and grown from 150 in morning worship to 500. God is blessing the church and we are thankful for it. We added staff and the ministries have greatly expanded. My wife Vickie and boys Shawn, John and Matthew have all grown up in Henderson and the church for which we are thankful.
I’m excited about the future God will unfold for us.

Tony Broome was born in 1957 and is from York County, South Carolina.
Shortly after premature birth while in the hospital, he received too
much oxygen concentration to the retinas of the eyes, resulting in
blindness with only light and shadow perception.
Broome attended South Carolina school for the blind and Beaver Creek
Bible Institute and School Of Theology. Being saved as a teenager and
called into gospel ministry in 1971, Tony has served in various
ministry capacities over the years; including: musician, pastor,
visitation worker, and ministry in Christian radio.
A ministry move brought Tony to Henderson, North Carolina in 1986, and
he married his wife Peggy in 1990. In addition to serving as pastor of
senior ministries at the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church,
Broome also serves as Bible teacher and helps with the music when
needed. One of the dearest ministries to his heart is that of nursing
and retirement home ministry. There are at least six different
ministries of this sort in which he is involved every month.
An exciting ministry that Broome enjoys is that of helping other blind
